I was listening and not paying too much attention to the video, is that a Bernie Collins cameo - nope just an unknown to me Irish actress (Kerry Condon). Sounds a bit like Bernie, looks a bit like Ruth, probably not just a coincidence. My wife is excited to go see it - something mumbled about Brad Pitt. I'm more meh.

I turned on both F3 and F2 practice at Red Flags, first race jitters I guess.
I like watching F2 and F3 - sometimes those races are far better than F1. Though the danger level also seems quite a bit higher despite the lower speeds. Not quite as good, younger, certain they're immortal, and very, very hungry.

Grand Prix already exists. It's a bit slow in places but definitely worth checking out for anyone that hasn't seen it.
James Garner > Brad Pitt.

Watched the first few minutes of the weekend warmup with Jolyon, Lawrence, Alex, Ruth, and Laura, and ... I didn't realize Alex Jacques was such a wee puppet man. Dude can't be over five feet tall. Just absolutely doesn't fit the voice.

All the rookies look like high school sophomores to me, except Antonelli who looks like an eighth-grader. I can't believe they're driving machines that cost more than I'll make in my entire career.

Yeah that car really pops, and Yuki driving the hell out of it. The Mercs looks aawesome from the overhead views, the livery that is. That green along the top/outer edge of the side pods really pops. Kimi A. is fun to watch, he really throws that car around, and the Merc is looking like it can handle it. Sounds like today's sessions are going to be even warmer though, so we'll see how things play out. Nice to see Lewis improving as he gets more time inside the car also.

Interesting start to the year. Is it too late to add '"Lawson gets booted and Ricciardo gets a call up for the Red Bull seat"' to my crazy predictions for the year? 😂🤣

Tsunoda and Hadjar both looked really tight this afternoon. As did the McLarens are the Ferraris. Will be very interesting to see it playv out tomorrow. And will it be worth picking someone you might think is out of position fit the overtake points?

Second practice is probably a little late for sandbagging from Red Bull - more likely setup experimentation. I'm pretty sure the Danny Ric train has left the station, but Tsunoda looks like he's driving for an unexpected mid season promotion.

Ferrari 2025. Click for 4x the size. I did two versions - one based on the launch livery they showed us where it looks dark maroon, and one where it’s closer to what we see on track.

Launch:

Versus the ‘On Track’ version we see, which is MUCH more traditional Rosso Corsa.

Here’s Lewis in the SF25 at Albert Park:

Much more red.
I personally REALLY prefer the on track version.

HEAVILY arguing with myself endlessly on whether I want to submit to the Great God Of Evil and give over money to the Foetid Corporate Zombie-Corpose of Sky....... deeply conflicted.

It does appear they are cheaper this year - £35/month with ads, £40/month without, which includes Netflix which we already pay for, so really a £29/month upgrade. But then that is a 24 month contract(!!!) Sky now do montly contracts, but that's a £7 premium. And it wasn't clear on an initial view of their site if those prices are just for SD. You know, "standard definition" aka 'square telly'. FFS. Need to check that. They are pretty slick with dangling nice and "cheap" add-ons but once you choose every one that makes sense suddenly your bill is EPIC.

Need to see if PooTV have got with the times and off PVR functionality or if its just a live stream. =/

I want to be there to see my boy Lewis embaress LeClerc on the day, but... fuck it, sport isn't for the masses any more. It's an exploitative corporate fuckfest designed from the core to extract as much wealth as possible. Yes, I'm old and jaded and I miss ten years ago. Sky F1 was still cool then...

Small payment (can't remember think it's about £35 a year) to a service like Smart DNS Proxy and you can have F1TV for like £6 per month ;)

Visually I like the darker red, but it doesn't look like a Ferrari.

Even the bright red scheme isn't red enough with the white wings and black skirts. Really just not a fan of red, white, and black.

Season hasn't even started and I dropped Bearman and picked up Hadjar due to how the first two practices went. Which probably means Bearman is going to have a stellar race. Not that it matters, I've mostly picked what I want to happen not what I think is mostly likely to happen.
Based off some comments here, I'm guessing my lineup is pretty similar to some others.

Also, I haven't finished the new DtS season yet, but it's made me like Lawson even less so far.

Thank you for that link!

I have him as one of mine also, but I'm just going to stick it out and see what happens.
Yeah, I have him in too. Once I'd picked my constructors (take a wild guess), I was kind of hamstrung on the cost cap. Putting him in got me to within $200k of the limit, and at the time I thought he was going to be a bargain. It's weird seeing him go Full Logie as it's not the first time he's driven for Haas, and he did amazingly well when he subbed for Sainz.

For giggles I have another team that's built on top of Haas and Sauber, and Stroll was the top pick.

No one took Max? Really?
Is there a way to see stats for the league, or just go through the teams one by one? It looks like there's a lot of McLaren love in this league! 😂🤣

Also, Verstappen is an expensive buy at the start of the season. Tough to justify that spend one just him.

I'm happy with 58 points to start off.

:flail:I have an emergency

As I refuse to give Murdoch a single red cent (so Foxtel/Kayo are out), and the evil bastard also locked out Australians from getting proper F1 TV; and with recent developments in torrent land, I have no means to get my F1 fix. What are my options?

I am guessing the solution is some permutation along the lines of "use a VPN, register an overseas F1TV account, and watch through the VPN". Any suggestions or recommendations? Any problems in using an Australian credit card to register an overseas F1 account?

I think for this weekend's purposes I'll grab a 7 day free trial of Kayo, but I need to find a solution to this pronto.
