Well then!
That was a fun qualifying! I have to wait until I get home to see how Fantasy went.

Best part of qualifying for me? The Williams!

Actually, no. The best part of Qualifying was seeing Yuki Tsunoda, in a Racing Bull, out qualify RBR's Liam Lawson by 13 places .

Yuki, seriously, so cool! Alex as well.

I think I figured out what's going on over at Red Bull, and I can't believe it has taken this long. Max's car is possessed, and it needs to siphon off the life force from the other car so that it can live. Seriously, that car just seems cursed.

Disappointed for the Merc and Ferrari boys, but it's encouraging to see Lewis getting better and better in that new car. Of course with the rain, and all these rookies, who knows what is going to happen. Exciting stuff!

Is there a way to see stats for the league, or just go through the teams one by one? It looks like there's a lot of McLaren love in this league! 😂🤣
Teams one by one, sadly. There's only the one filter to narrow down the view to a particular race, or you can see the stats for the entire season. The dropdown will populate as each race occurs.

You can also click on a particular driver or constructor to see the points breakdowns and some other stats.

Of course, I make a couple of swaps based on FP1 & 2, and both drivers that were taken out outperformed their replacements. The usual fantasy league curse.

Team ”Put me in, Coach!” scored 24! But that’s because I have Ferrari and Red Bull as my constructors :p.

8 Ball, on the other hand… I’m hoping it’s built for race pace, not single lap ;).

Carbon fiber everywhere.

Gonna be Brazil redux; Max wins with a 10-minute margin, one of the backmarkers (please be Sauber) rounds out the podium, nobody in the top 4 teams score points, Stroll beaches it on the formation lap, Sainz has a brilliant race only to be taken out by a wayward Lawson 5 laps from the end. At least 2 red flags over the course of the race.

Or not. Fuck if I know. But I'm betting the 8 Ball o' Chaos is positively humming today.

Massively happy to see Albon putting up a proper fight against Sainz. Overall, he’s seemed a little bit behind through the weekend so far, but he turned in a stellar last lap (as did Yuki). We’ll see how the race goes, but Williams are starting with two proper drivers for the first time in the better part of a decade. Maybe Aston Martin will sit up and take notice.

60 points out of the gates, so I’m pretty happy. If Ollie had just managed to turn in a timed lap, it would‘ve been 65…

That said, my Haas/Sauber team with Stroll at the helm scored -8, so there’s that… :p

Raining has been on and off since early morning, big rains now. Unfortunately no further big storms are on the radar forecast for the near future.

So, race.. weather conditions different to the other running days, a thoroughly cleaned up road surface, and a wet but drying track? Not so calamitous, but a lot better then sunny, boring and 28 degrees I guess.

Wet but drying is ideal imo. Everyone starts out on inters, the occasional early shower makes it a bit dicey but not calamitous, and allows the really skilled drivers to shine. And then the teams can be really rewarded if they make the right strategy call.

F1 convinced me to upgrade my sub to F1 Premium - it was like $10 more for the year for Premium than the total monthly cost I was paying before. Not sure what the value is at the moment, but F1TV is one of the best deals going in terms of quality vs cost.

Almost time.

So how are you liking the upgrade so far?

The multiviewer interface is infuriating relative to the original method to switch feeds. But otherwise the UHD and the actual ability to multi view is pretty great.
I have two windows open with one fullscreen and just unmute the one I want to listen to at any given point in time. Needless to say I typically watch races on my computer with dual monitors. In-cars and timing on the right, full screen TV feed on the left.
