Also in MAYBE? - after working out which part of the html is the code to enter at the end of the first team creation.

It's not showing up as a joined league ... is there an approval process? Does the username need to match? Am I just clueless. No I just missed the little UI checkbox on the team page before the Join button is activated. Warning Newbie alert!!!
For me, I set up a team first and then when I created the league it asked me to select a team, but there was also a "Create New Team" button.

IIRC, all users get three teams, but only one can join this league, and only the FIRST team you create joins the global leagues for prizes and stuff. (First prize in the global league is two 3-day VIP tickets for pretty much any race in 2026.)

As long as you use the link above, that's the only "Approval" you need to join the league. It's not dependent on my hitting approve or anything manual. F1 Fantasy also vets the team names themselves, which is reflected on the "My Teams" page with the little orange shield icon.

If you click on the shield, you get this:

I see six teams in the league so far.
  1. Corkscrews at Monaco
  2. Do I Win if Rear Crosses First?
  3. Fragmentation Beanies
  4. Freeman Racing
  5. Papaya Rules OK?
  6. Trukking the F1S

I'm in, I think.

edit: Okay I am 90% sure I'm in. Damn that budget cap is tight.
So tight. I was picking my drivers thinking "hmmm, not too bad, looks like it'll be a pretty high scoring affair - I wonder why so many of the top drivers are picked in so few teams", right up until I realised that the constructor selections also have come in under the cap. Oof.

Much tinkering will be done this week.

DtS, S7 ep4:

James Vowles: “If I sort of summarize our year so far, it’s not one to be proud of. If we go through the damage record we’ve had, it’s three front wings, three rear wings, three floors, two and a half car sets, a suspension, three gear boxes destroyed, and then some miscellaneous bits. That’s normally what you’d expect to get through in twenty-four races, not… not two.”

They had the DtS episode on at work that followed Williams around. First time watching it. Are F1 drivers usually that catty? The one incident they really caught on camera is when they told Piastri he was the #2 car and Lando was smirking the whole time. But the little passive aggressive comments sprinkled in is what got me.
Well F1 drivers are just people so of course they can be catty. But of course you do have to consider the editing of DtS which does increase any possible drama to levels that it may not have been in reality.

I would add after only watching three episodes, there appear to be more "scripted" interactions that are used to connect narratives. Those scenes could have been shot at any time. I found them jarring because they are not actors and have a hard time playing themselves naturally.

It definitely is more ... I don't know, polished? The first few seasons were pretty raw, both in terms of the people being filmed, as well as the overall cut and edit of the show. Feels like they're starting to fall into a rhythm.

I'm mildly annoyed that I can't spy on anyone else's team.

Not as annoyed as I was every time I was $0.2M short of getting the lineup I wanted though.
If I remember correctly from last year watching the F1TV crew compete, you see the lineup for each team after the team lock deadline each week.

I'm in. Can't say I'll be putting any time into understanding the rules and making moves ahead of each race etc, but I've showed up, at least.

Unimaginatively named my team as my Ars nick - thought it would be easier to match people here to the teams to have some correlation. If I can rename it, I may do so later.

I'm tied for 1st place!

For the non metric inclined, that's potentially an inch of rain.

The way the BOM do their predictions, when they say this in a forecast you can expect a properly good soaking.

My guess is a wet track at the start (the rain since gone) that will rapidly dry. Who will try starting on slicks?
Knowing Melbourne that'll be after a cloudy and gusty morning, followed by a serene and sunny lunch time too. It'll then climb to 35° by the end of the race.

Whoever named their team BWOAAHHH?

You got a genuine :ROFLMAO: out of me.
Heh, you found me. I had to add an extra "A" as team names need to be unique, so I'm not the only one in the system. Looking forward to the weekend, though with potential rain and a lot of rookies, picking a fantasy team (or predictor game results) is pretty tough!

Bwoahhh...it's mental that the season's starting already. That said, I might be in a minority where I always kind of hate the weekend of the first race.

Thanks to their inability to plan ahead, Six Nations always produces a schedule that has the last round of the tournament being played on the same weekend as F1 kicks off. Yes, Scotland as usual have no hope of winning and are probably going to get their arses handed to them by France, but I'll still watch the three games. It just makes the weekend really long, especially if we have other stuff planned.

No idea how the fantasy F1 stuff works, but Team Smegup is proud to announce a new title sponsor for the 2025 season. We're proud to welcome Greggs to the Smegup family! We'd also like to announce that, despite rumours to the contrary, we're competing this year strictly within the cost cap, and our accountants can prove we still have $200,000 left in the bank.

Still, McLaren and Williams: let's fucking go!

One more day until the team lock deadline for those that want to join at the start!

Anyone is welcome to join at any point in the season, although obviously you won't score any points during the weeks you weren't part of the league.

Good luck to all that join up!

I'm going the British American Racing route and looking to spend the maximum amount of money while collecting the fewest points.
Unless he's not racing, I'm going to have Lewis in the line-up every week, but I may flip flop my most expensive constructor here and there, which would then cause me to have to figure out which one of the other drivers to swap out. I kind of like how simple it is with just one fantasy team to worry about, and being F1, you don't have the multitude of choices to make every week, which is pretty much what turned me off to other types of fantasy leagues.

For the new F1 film trailer, honestly I'm excited about it. Just gotta take it for what it is and hope it's not way to over the top 😂

and, now we have the new trailer:

I was listening and not paying too much attention to the video, is that a Bernie Collins cameo - nope just an unknown to me Irish actress (Kerry Condon). Sounds a bit like Bernie, looks a bit like Ruth, probably not just a coincidence. My wife is excited to go see it - something mumbled about Brad Pitt. I'm more meh.

I turned on both F3 and F2 practice at Red Flags, first race jitters I guess.
