OSA and Applescript was developed in 1990; it borrowed heavily from their own research into object oriented programming (HyperCard). Apple couldn't follow standards that haven't been widely released (or even invented) yet, so they had to roll their own. <P>Where was java/javascript 10 years ago? I'd be damned if any of your 286/386 PC's were running it.<P>
