RFK Jr. hires anti-vaccine advocate to study debunked vaccine, autism link

A discredited anti-vaccine advocate who has no medical background and who has been disciplined for practicing medicine without a license will reportedly lead a questionable federal study on vaccines and autism
Sounds pretty wasteful. I'm sure DOGE will be all over this.

Dumbest timeline.
It's sad that this is my first thought with so many developments in our current government. I remember watching the movie Idiocracy and laughing because it was just so over-the-top ridiculous...I'm not laughing now that I'm watching it happen in real life.

One step short of experimenting on the disabled... Trump and Musk are ticking off the general National Socialist Party broad goals - or the direction straight toward them - at a terrifying rapid rate already.

1933 to 2025 - only 92 years for history to start repeating itself in the worst regard in the past 100... The USA is now my enemy and the enemy of all good people everywhere and those who ignore evil are complicit to it.

I will not fail to stand up the evil of Fascist America! Sadly I think i'm going to have to boycott American companies inc. news outlets at this point, but that is a small price to pay to stand up for freedom for the oppressed.

This is the death rattle of the American Empire.

Ripping down Science will not Make America Great Again.

Unfortunately this is what happens when profits matter more than anything else. Most Americans can hardly read because public education has been deemed a waste of money.

A highly educated population could have kept the United States as the most competitive country in the world. That is no more.

The death cult will get its wishes when the next disease rips through the population and makes the black plague look like the common cold.

I have a son with autism, and another baby son that is about to get a lot of jabs in the next several years. To say that I have some skin in the game here is an understatement.

The latest statistical analysis is that Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) has about an 80% correlation to being genetic (both inherited genes, and gene processing that happens in the gonads and at conception). That leaves a potential 20% correlation to environmental factors.

About the only thing we're sure of is that vaccines are not part of those environmental factors. These vaccine myths have been around for around 30 years, and studies looking into a link have reached the meta-analysis level, the highest form of scientific certainty.

If there is any real negative relationship between vaccines and autism, this uncurious Geier guy isn't going to find it, and he definitely isn't going to find it in a way that has any credibility.

If any action is taken to make vaccines harder to get in this country because of this administration, I will at the very least be doing vaccine tourism, and this would also be a strong motivator to expatriate if I cannot rely on my children's classmates to have vaccination.

Edit: Here's my source on the 80% number: "...heritability estimate between 70 and 90%."

Mike Judge was an optimist.
  • President Camacho clearly understood the problem
  • He genuinely wanted to help the country - he was a patriot
  • He immediately identified the smartest person he could find to tackle the problem and implemented their proposed solution
Contrast with this group of sycophantic assholes who care only for personal enrichment, grinding their axes, and taking revenge.

Not just profits. Pushing anti-intellectualism has so many other benefits for conservatives. Most importantly, it ensures that you'll have a healthy steady stream of new conservative voters in the future.

edit: maybe "healthy" isn't the best word to use in this instance

I'm right there with you, and you just reminded me that I need to look up the proper vaccine schedule now and have that in hand so I know what to do should something go missing from the list.

This is where the Democrats could make a big difference. Write a bill that states "no money will be used to study the purported link between vaccines and autism." Put it to a vote. Let the Republicans either support it (best case) or have to vote against it on record (so they can be ridiculed).

Let's see if they can do it...

Yes, let’s hire the guy who did chemical castration experiments on kids with autism for a “study” on vaccines causing autism. Jesus jumping with a pogo stick fuck.
Oh, this is really small change. Just a blip on the monitor. No big deal.

Trump wants to disassemble the entire judiciary.

It's not even about profits with the current lot. You have an idiot real estate developer who thinks conquering Canada, Greenland, and Panama will make the US great again. Unfortunately for him and his disciples, greatness is not won over land battles anymore. Greatness today is won through soft power and the way to achieve and maintain soft power is leading through science, tech, and biomed innovation.

If it wasn’t so utterly sickening, the irony of the GOP (who have been screeching about puberty blockers being chemical castration/mutilation in their anti-trans bullshit) hiring a guy who worked with his father risking actual chemical castration on children in their inhumane attempts to create links between vaccines and autism, would be hilarious. Sadly, it’s quite the opposite of hilarious. Fuck this dude, fuck RFK, fuck every single senator that voted to confirm RFK, fuck every single person who voted for trump, and fuck every single person who didn’t vote against trump. Fuck these death cult child abusers, and everyone directly and indirectly enabling this insanity.

DOGE: kill off well-established social institutions to replace them with private profit-scraping nightmares.
RFKjr: kill off the population to be replaced with....? A.I. golf caddies? (really don't get the Thanos profit angle)
Not that complicated.

Killing people through dismantling government services that protect them takes awhile. These are all old motherfuckers. Make snake-oik legal, sell snake-oil, cash out. They'll get to live out the rest of their lives filthy rich and whatever happens after they're dead doesn't matter to them.

Unfortunately, this time, the potential aggressor has sufficient weaponry to effectively kill the planet, maybe not during the first strike but the long term effects of the environmental pollution it would cause likely would.

History repeats itself over and over because I think there is something baked into the human psyche that causes it to be so. All great civilizations rise and fall usually because they repeat the same blunders epoch after epoch something is intrinsically off in the human mind. Don't know what it is though
