Okay, I read through most of the posts on this topic, but may have missed something, so if I reiterate a previous argument, try not to get too mad at me...
The first question I have to ask myself is, "Who is going to read the KB article anyway?" Obviously there are those who want to mock it. But in general, it is for people who DON'T KNOW HOW TO DO IT THEMSELVES. Obviously you can pull out your trusty copy of MS-DOS fdisk, repartition the drive, and away you go. The KB article even mentions that. But the KB article is targetted at those who need a little help. What's the purpose in writing a concise KB article to explain to people who know what they're doing how to do something they do all the time?
Yes, a serious beta tester is likely to have a copy of fdisk around somewhere. But a serious beta tester is not likely to go looking for a KB article explaining how to remove linux. I think MS has done an adequate job of providing instructions within the minimum constraints of usefulness, provided for those who really don't know how to do it themselves.
Just an opinion...
