Wow! Are they building full Win32 compatibility into BeOS?<P>Because if they don't, it won't even begin to rock my world.

If the OS does nothing for you, then why must you be the Forum ass and make snide comments to people that actually get excited about something.
You do nothing to explain _how_ BeOS R5 will rock my world, so I put forward one way in which it might (the other alternative being BeOS ports of all the programs I use and all the programs I'll ever use).
Because I can't say why its going to rock. All I can say is that *A Lot* of people will be very suprised. I am just spreading excitement for something that I believe in and know a lot about.<P>Phyte

The reason that I can't tell you is because I don't want to spoil anything for Be. I *know* what R5 is going to be. I *know* what features its going to have. I came here to spread excitement for the BeOS community, not to fight with someone that gets off on putting down others.<P>Thanks for the English lesson. Saying the BeOS 5 will rock <B>my</B> world isn't opinion. Note, it wasn't saying that BeOS 5 <B>might</B> rock my world, it wasn't saying that it rocked <B>your</B> world, it was saying that it <B>would</B> rock <B>my</B> world.<P>Yet, one of the things that it would <B>have</B> to do is dismissed as being small and pathetic. I can only take this to mean that BeOS won't do this thing. Personally I think Phyte is talking out his ass. Even as a memeber of the BeOS app. development community I have little idea of what is to be coming in R5 other than the rumour mill.
I never said anything about the NDA. I have never been nor probably will never be a part of the NDA. I came to this forum wanting to spread some enthusiasm about the up and coming R5 release of the BeOS. I think its a great product and I will continue to support it. I came to this forum because I wanted to spread my excitement, but I get confronted with a bunch of assholes that have nothing better to do with their time then insult others. I thought this crowd was different but from what I've seen here doesn't impress me one bit. I have to say that I am done here...<P>Phyte
You can't just spread excitement by coming in here and saying "such-and-such will be great".<P>It doesn't work like that.
You know what would be cool? A recompiler that runs Win software for BeOS and then recompiles it (like Fx86 for the Alphas did)... That would ROCK!!!! If BeOS5 don't have that, I'll be pretty disappointed. They need one that will run Mac stuff too... now THAT would be cool, being able to use EVERYTHING on one fast, cool platform.<P>That would rock my world. If that's BeOS5, then it will.

It recompiled software for Windows NT x86 to Windows NT Alpha: nothing but changing the instruction set. the calls to the WinAPI remained the same. changing from windows x86 to BeOS x86 is a whole different deal, and, I would guess, much more difficult (since there would not always be parallel functions between Windows and BeOS).<P>

I think that I have done what exactly I meant to accomplish. If I would've posted gee I can't wait for R5 how many responces do you think I would of got. This post has been in the top five all day. I have made people open their eyes, and they might not say it but I have brought excitement here for Be. All the negative comments just make me laugh. And when did I say that I did not know what NDA was? I just said that I was not part of one? Please explain..
