COVID shots protect kids from long COVID—and don’t cause sudden death

It's really annoying how hard it is to get absolute numbers out of a study. The study says the risk of long COVID is anywhere from 1-3%, so vaccination reduces that risk to

.43% to 1.29% for single symptom long covid
.27% to .81% for multi-symptom long covid

This was after one series of two-dose vaccines. It'd be interesting to see how long the protection lasts.

You know what else protects kids from COVID? Being a kid.
You know what helps avoid blurting out inane comments? How about, reading the article first:
Still, not all infections are mild, and even mild cases can lead to long COVID, according to the authors of the first study. An estimated 1 percent to 3 percent of children infected with SARS-CoV-2 will develop long COVID, defined as having symptoms that continue or develop four or more weeks after the initial phase of infection. With tens of millions of kids getting infected with the pandemic virus, a large number of them are at risk of developing the condition.

The last week or two, it seems like many substantial news sites (and lots of really sketchy ones) have all been running a story about a rare syndrome caused by the Covid vaccine. If you dig into it at all, you’ll find that the people behind the study have said that it’s still super early in the study and the results haven’t been validated yet. But, of course that last part doesn’t make for scary sounding click generating headlines, so if you’re someone who only sees the headlines but doesn’t dig into far and you’ve got pre-existing concerns about it, you’d easily be lead to believe it was proof they’re dangerous.

Will all those sites that ran articles about that Yale study run stories about this study and promote it as heavily? Seriously doubt it.

I fully expect Dickhead von Brainworm is going to ban mRNA vaccines in an effort to appease covidiots. God dammit.

He won't ban mRNA vaccines to try to appease the covidiots -- he's one of them.

Even the cats and dogs have sporks! Which they also use to defend themselves against hungry immigrants who are also Felon45 supporters (at least up until their eventual deportation).
This right here, clearly the plan is to prepackage the cats and dogs with cutlery, for easier immigrant consumption.

/s because the internet has murdered satire.

It's strange that in any article related to Covid, the prevalence of posts with shocking grammar, strange punctuation and inexplicable paragraph breaks skyrockets.

There must be a strong correlation between stress-related high blood pressure and an inability to properly use the "Shift" and "Enter" keys. This demands further research.

McDonald's. "Billions served." Results? Obesity, diabetes, heart disease, high blood-pressure... at least.
COVID-19 vaccine. "Billions served." Results? Reduced impact from COVID-19. Less blood-clotting than getting COVID-19.

Why is there even a question in anyone's mind anymore? There are so many doses of this stuff administered that it's mind-bogglingly, astonishingly, incomprehensibly unlikely that anything bad will happen to a given person. And yet... shoving a Big Mac in the face... that's totally reasonable.

But long rambly paragraph man who’s using appeal to authority fallacies just told us that covid mortality rates are a lie and we just need to not be a “lazy fat ass” and we’re good to go, without linking to any legitimate studies or otherwise proving anything they’ve said… I don’t know who to believe!

What’s worse than doing the wrong thing? Believing you’re not wrong and that it was God’s divine intervention that landed you the job in the first place which he wants you to do.

And that’s what RFK would seem to think as he said as much.

I’m tempted to say God help us, but I’d be lying to you if I told you I’m a believer.

Obvious time to invest in the burial and casket businesses.
surprisingly that’s a very ‘captured’ market
my brother was building an old style pine casket as a prop for a theatre piece - did some research at local library for basic blueprints-
had the police show up at his door.

yeah - undertakers have so many municipal laws in place that even building a prop casket is technically illegal,
and they jealously guard their monopoly

Rates of myocarditis amongst young males due to the COVID vaccine do not outweigh the benefits of the vaccine.
How badly broken does your brain need to be, for you to assert that the COVID spike protein MRNA vaccine poses a higher risk of myocarditis than actual full-blown COVID infection in absence of pre-existing, vaccine-induced immunity? Jeeeeeeebus....

Never even mind the rest of your garbled and distorted rant.

And Brain worm will promptly ignore/quash this
I recently learned that they will ignore this or deny it because it completely goes against their identity. It goes against who they are. Reasoning with them then becomes a death struggle. Accepting reality would mean they'd have to kill off a part their personality. It explains the heated discussions. Pretty obvious now that I read this back.

I'd be interested to know how much yearly boosters reduce the risk, compared to just the initial round(s) of shots, and also if/how much that protection level fades over time. It seems from the article they are just comparing vaccinated vs non-vaccinated.

Don't get me wrong, I get my shots (even though, where I live and being in a low-risk category, it's a bit of a frustrating/confusing process each year with the phased rollout/eligibility), I'm just curious.

I also know someone who's been dealing with long COVID effects on and off for the past few years, and it's fucking shitty.
