AMD and Intel have reported their Q3 2024 results.

For data center revenue, AMD reported a quarterly revenue of $3.55 billion with $1.04 billion in operating income. Intel reported a quarterly revenue of $3.35 billion with $0.35 billion in operating income.

For comparison, in Q3 2023, AMD reported a quarterly data center revenue of $1.6 billion with $0.31 billion in operating income, whereas Intel reported revenue of $3.08 billion with $0.39 billion in operating income.

Given AMD's rapid growth in DC and Intel's relative stagnation, there was speculation that AMD would surpass Intel's revenue at some point, and Q3 2024 seems to be that point. And given that Xeon is still trailing behind EPYC in performance and Intel doesn't seem to have any answer to AMD's data center AI products, AMD seems poised to out-earn Intel in DC for the foreseeable future.
