The reason things suck so much now is our society has extremely powerful perverse incentives that encourage it. We have to do what we can individually and as groups to negate those perverse incentives and then outlaw them

The comment you responded to said we deserve to die out as a species. That's not nihilism. That life on Earth would be better off without us is a valid viewpoint.

It's been true for a while that just a few well placed individual humans could annihilate most life on Earth. There is no timeline where planet killing energies will not eventually be unleashed by one or more motivated persons. Yet even without Nuclear Armageddon we're doing a good job of extinguishing species. So I'm afraid from a non anthropocentric view the sooner we wipe ourselves out the better.

TLDR: Humanity is doomed, we deserve it, and besides a few collaborators other species would be better off without us.
